My paintings are in essence a series of discussions, between order and disorder; structure versus mayhem, which, developed over time, reveal characters, symbols, shapes and forms. Constantly verging between the downright messy and the somewhat controlled, I continually challenge the norm, in respect of that which we think of as ascetically pleasing. The results can perhaps be best described as seriously playful, treating whimsy with the utmost respect.

I dwell in my imagination, inspired by everyday journeys and events. I find movement by any means, a catalyst for my work. A view, or subject, often through windows, allows a mere glimpse, a fragment, that helps, to not only frame the vision, but also, to create a questioning perspective.

I am particularly interested in anything that is incongruous or at odds in its surroundings, or that which may be deemed ugly or an eyesore.
