Liz Pounsett
Bio:
Growing up around technical drawings and scale models definitely shaped my early interest in art and design. After initially studying graphic design and then art, at degree level, I went on to pursue a career in teaching. I currently teach in Portsmouth where I also manage the art curriculum.
Collage is my preferred medium because it gives me freedom to examine scale, space and time. My current work combines photography and collage. In my larger pieces, I love to explore different compositions and to invent impossible scenarios. In mixing the ordinary with the unexpected, I endeavour to engage the viewer. I collect images that spark my imagination and then arrange and rearrange-sometimes for hours-until I capture a moment, an impossible photograph.
