Artists Exhibiting At Our Art Fair
Here you can find information of each artist who will be showing at the next Roy’s Art Fair including exhibitions, achievements and sample works.
Lexi studied BA Fine Art at UCA (University for the Creative Arts) Canterbury in 2001-2004 and since then has been building her career as a photographer and artist. Now living on the south coast of the UK near Brighton, her passion is in underwater photography and she spends as much time as she can in the water. Lexi trains as a freediver and undertakes all of her work without the aid of scuba equipment. Her projects take her to the clear waters of the mediterranean sea most regularly but she also loves to travel further afield. The video below shows a behind the scenes glimpse of her at work in the cenotes of Mexico - a project sponsored by Sony UK and Wex Photo Video.
“Through this series of photographic works, I aim to capture the feeling of being in another world. The otherworldly beauty of the powerful, magical sea.
Mostly, I am interested in depicting a single female in my underwater scenes. In some of the images, she serenely floats towards the light in an eerie suggestion of traveling from one world to the next. In other scenes, she is being consumed, a representation of vulnerability and a reminder of the incredible force of the ocean. I am interested in showing her strengths and her weaknesses. Her feelings of euphoria and of peace. My aim is to transport the viewer into these scenes - to find in these images, their own fears and fearlessness.
Ocean conservation is very important to me and through my latest series of images titled ‘Single Use Planet’ I explore the responsibility we as humans have in protecting this precious part of our planet”
