Bio:
My work oscillates between subconscious thoughts of automatism and the inevitable conscious considerations of composition. Expressive marks, colours and shapes, both organic and representative, are overlaid to create a new, contemplative 'space'.
This idea of space is detrimental in my work, whether it be constructing an imagined space or reimagining an existing space. I am particularly interested in the viewer and their relationship with the artwork. Their behaviour in specific environments calls its question issues around public and private space. I explore such ideas through painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation and digital media.
