Bio:

Diana Summer Is a mixed media painter based in London, UK and Lecce, Italy.

Diana was inspired to paint by her childhood days spend in her father's art & design studio. She recently returned to art but this time creating large abstract and textured paintings. Diana also enjoys meeting and working alongside other artists at the Hampstead School of Art and Wimbledon Art Studios in London, as well as local artisans in Lecce, South Italy.

Diana is fascinated by texture and form found in nature and architecture as well as the exploration of colour. Expressive gestural layers of mixed media, paint, and raw pigment are applied one layer at a time to create the desired texture and form. Experimenting with natural eco materials and discovering organic textures and colour combinations is another part of her process that she enjoys. Texture is generated first followed by the colour and the title, which flows from the unconscious mind.

"I do not paint something I see or imagine, I simply immerse myself in the organic and spontaneous process reacting to movement, texture and colour, which allows my work to surprise me" (every time!)
