Bio:

I have been producing prints for over eighteen years alongside teaching and have a fascination for the variety of techniques which fall under the umbrella of printmaking. As with many printmakers I am often driven by process and will switch between methods depending on the theme. Work here features prints made using collagraph, silkscreen, relief, intaglio and etching techniques. Visit the process gallery to see more images of work in progress. I have a large selection of prints inspired by the coast which resulted from explorations of the south coast during my MA.

My current body of work explores the interplay between structural forms and the uplifting and restorative power of colour. I am also developing a collection of circular screenprints which celebrate mark making and vibrant colour relationships.

The geometric prints are intended as representations of architectural forms which provide the viewer with a meditative space in which to take shelter. Created using Collagraph and block printing techniques each piece is created in stages, developing an interplay between overlapping shapes by building layers of transparent ink.

I have a BA in Fine Art from Leeds University and an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from Winchester School of Art and exhibit widely in both local and national exhibitions. Highlights include The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Royal West of England Academy and Great Print Exhibition in Cumbria.
