Bio:

Hi I'm GeGe

The main driver behind my art is the concept of 'interconnectivity'

In these times of isolation and increased mental discord, it is important to remember our interconnection, reinforce our sense of belonging and appreciate our collective existence which transcends the disjointed nature of our world today.

A few years ago I came across a quote by Rumi “Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you”. It was exactly what I needed to hear in that moment. I now endeavour to reach others by portraying the same message through art.

In our challenging modern lives, it’s easy to get consumed in the daily grind and lose perspective of the bigger picture. I believe it is essential to remember our place in the broader universe and the connection between humanity and the cosmos.

I aim to continue to explore this fundamental theme in many other ways, using different methods and mediums. So watch this space…see you in September 2024!

A bit more about me…

I completed my architectural studies surrounded by art and artists alike at The Glasgow School of Art and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art.

Having practised as an architect for two decades, my sense of purpose had never wavered. But over the past few years, I felt a subtle shift, a pull towards a different path. I had been painting in a representational style since school, yet, it always felt too confining to contain the world of emotions and memories within me.

In 2022, I took a leap of faith by exhibiting and selling my first-ever abstract series; a defining moment that inspired me to make the life-altering choice to dive headlong into my newfound passion and pursue a career as a full-time artist.
