Bio:
Self-taught artist Sarah Witt is best known for her fearless approach to colour and the creation of abstract paintings inspired by her own experiences and emotions.
Born in Surrey in 1993, Switt Art now lives and works in London, creating whenever and wherever possible – both her passion and productivity has only been heightened during the pandemic, where the need for positivity and emotional light has been all too apparent. Her paintings are quite literally coloured by the highs and lows of life in the capital. Specialising in acrylic, palette knife and mixed media, Switt Art loves creating bold crazy textures bringing unique colour combinations together. The outcomes of her art are often a result of a pre-conceived concept combined with an element of spontaneity. Open to commissions, she has subsequently explored a variety of styles, but her main love is the creation of contemporary abstract paintings which are high energy and high impact.
Having discarded her paintings at University due to their sheer size, they were (unbeknown to her) later displayed on the brick walls of a housing estate in Leamington Spa – her very first accidental exhibition! Switt Art has since featured in the World of Interiors magazine and collaborated with a number of artists as part of the ‘Tankers and Pumpers’ exhibition at gallery@oxo to help raise money for the Australian Fire Services in January 2020. Now ready for her next adventure, Switt Art is incredibly grateful and honoured to have had a space on the walls of The Brick Lane Gallery The Annexe in September 2021.
