Bio:

In my colourful musings about life I want to inspire people to be the main
character of their story.


Ivona Martincic was born in Croatia and completed her studies in interior
design at KLC School Of Design, London. She studied painting at Art
studio Hrvoje Majer and Milan Art Institute.
This series of paintings celebrates women and their imagination, joy of
existence and freedom to create their own reality. She is praising moments
of leisure and doing nothing, times of happiness and fleeting pleasures.
While seemingly doing nothing, there is a whole world of thoughts going on
in the characters’ minds. They are creating their own reality, enjoying life as
it is and imagining what it could be.
Under the name Voona (meaning wool in Croatian and being her anagram)
she makes street art wool installations that can be seen both in Zagreb
and London. She is best known for her Broken Heart crochet graffiti piece
that became a symbol of hope in Zagreb after the earthquake and during
the pandemic.
She lives between Zagreb, Croatia and London, UK, the city she calls her
soulmate. "Home is a feeling. I create my home wherever I feel I belong. It
can be anywhere in the world."
